I went to Newbold today (11/11/07), for the first time, and in some ways it reminds me of High Harthay in Cambridgeshire. Nice congregating area and a walk through the woods to each of the 12 stands. Nice to see clays below the shooter and lots of variations. Very fast response to a minor battery problem, and apologies all round for the delay.
The walk round the stands is circular and some nice exercise. Generally leaf litter underfoot between stands and nice stable platforms to shoot from. Very friendly trappers, both ladies and gents. All in all, a nice clay shoot. Bob M

I shoot Newbold as regular as possible, in my opinion the ground is up there as one of the best ! A totally natural enviroment with good targets and a friendly atmosphere, handicap down to 15 and heading in the right direction.
The only ground I could compare it with would be Grimsthorpe, as for High Harthay ?? Don't quite see your comparison ![]() |

I think I've shop Grimsthorpe once, a police shoot. I think you are right, very similar with the walk through the woods.
Regards
